Challenge how to
Initial prediction
- Try to guess how much you can improve in 11 iterations!
- Anonymously ask your team members for their predictions (tags into account the topics of session).
- Gather the predictions and make an average.
- Save this for the last session, during b which you will compare it with your actual result.
Challenge
- Based on the activity and the metrics decide on the desired state of the focus topic.
- Come up with goals which need to be met in order to reach the desired state.
- Prioritize the goals based on effort to impact ratio – assign values S/M/L for both categories to the goals. Alternatively you can decide on a different prioritization approach.
- Decide what to pick to start with, take advantage of those with low effort, but high impact.
- In case you assume it is not possible to meet the selected goal(s) until the next session, split it, so that at least part of it can be done and another part moved to session after that.
- If needed, create an action plan – what needs to be done to meet the goal.
- Action!
Goals evaluation
- At the beginning of the session mark the selected goal as done/undone.
- Use percentual representation of the result (4 goals set, 3 goals done = ¾ = 0,75 = 75%.
- Mark your result to the Results board.
Overall evaluation
- Sum all the results from your Results board.
- Divide them by the number of results (If you used all the sessions it will be sum/11=XX%)
- Here is your result, congratulations, even small improvements can help! The higher the percentage the better you were at handling the challenges you set up for your self, see the following Star scale:
Star scale:
- Proxima (0-25%): Teams in this category are akin to Proxima Centauri, the closest star to Earth. Like Proxima, they are just beginning their journey and may struggle to shine brightly. However, with dedicated nurturing and support, they possess the potential to ignite their brilliance and illuminate the path to success.
- Sirius (26-50%): Teams at this level are comparable to Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky. While they possess some brilliance, they still have room to shine even brighter. With focused efforts and guidance, they can enhance their radiance and illuminate the way forward with their growing success.
- Aldebaran (51-75%): Teams in this category embody the strength and stability of Aldebaran, a giant star in the constellation of Taurus. They perform above average and demonstrate resilience in facing challenges. With continued refinement and strategic direction, they have the potential to elevate their performance to even greater heights, casting a steady glow of achievement.
- UY Scuti (76-100%): Teams at this level are like UY Scuti, one of the largest known stars in the universe. They shine brilliantly and consistently exceed expectations, casting a light that inspires others. Like UY Scuti’s immense size, these teams demonstrate unparalleled excellence and serve as beacons of success, illuminating the way for others to follow.
